Q. How OLD do you have to be to get a tattoo?
A. In the state of California, you MUST be 18 years of age with no exceptions. No matter what you hear about an adult present the law is the law, 18 years old. Yes, we will ask for a valid ID at the time of the tattoo so please have it with you.

Q. Does getting a tattoo hurt?
A. Everyone has a different tolerance of pain. For the most part though, it has been described as a "cat scratch" or as a sun burn. Different parts of the body may not be as painful as others. But, the beauty of the art afterwards far out weighs the minor pain of getting the tattoo.

Q. How can I be assured everything is safe where I get my tattoo?
A. Every Tattoo artist in the state of California has to be registered with their local county heath agency and they must have certain certificates. ASK questions, ask to see their certificates and ask other customers of that shop. If they don't want to show you, MOVE on to another shop! They shouldn't have anything to hide!

Q. HOW much do you charge for a tattoo?
A. This is hard to say here. The price depends on the size, the nature of the art being done, the prep work of the art before the actual tattoo and if it is black and grey or color. There is a minimum charge of $75.00 for all tattoos, and depending on what you want the price goes from there. Stop by, show us what you want and we'll give you a firm quote.

Q. Do you take payments for large tattoos?
A. We have just come to an agreement with the bank at Living Ink Tattoos, we have promised them that we will not do loans and in return they promise us they will not do tattoos! No, the agreed price of the tattoo is expected at time of services rendered.
